I finally finished some long-running tumbles of quartz and citrine. I started with rough back in July and ran about 15 5-day rounds in the coarse stage (60/90 SC in 3# Lortone barrels). That seemed to take about forever! And then it was my usual medium (120/200 SC for 7 days), pre-polish (500 SC for 10 days), pre-polish (1000 AO for 10 days), polish (AO for 14 days), burnish (a few hours). I'm pretty happy with the results. Unfortunately, we have very little sun here in NH in Dec., so these photos are all taken indoors under standard lighting and so don't really show off the shine all that well.
