Man oh man, picking a winner today was not easy. There were some really thoughtful and heartwarming stories from true animal lovers. But, I have to say that today's winner made me feel like I had just walked into a Norman Rockwell painting. I think I am beginning to understand why Naturnut has picked that RTH name for herself. She is today's winner. Jo, send me a PM with your address, ok? For today's contest, the prize will be this fossil Indonesian coral pendant: Here's the catch: To win today's prize, we are going to come up with some new song verses. Everyone knows the 12 Days of Christmas song, but I think it needs to be lengthened a bit. How about if we add 6 new "gifts" to the song and make it the "18 Days of Christmas"? These gifts need to be rock, or rock hobby related... who needs all those other gifts, right? And remember, they have to reasonably fit into the song, so something like "a FRB box full of fortification and plume agates" would not really fit into the rhythm of the song, right? Once again, humor, cleverness, and originality all score points! Ok, lyricists... sing to me.. Vance

Wow! Thanks soo much! And thanks for having the contest, Vance! What a thrill to be a new member of RTH and being able to participate! I was so into sharing my warm memories with everybody, that I had no idea I might win! I want you all to know that I'm so grateful to be here and that you all are here too. (and psyched about the seraphinite!) Thanks! Jo

On the eighteenth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me eighteen rocks a-gathering, seventeen stones a-splitting, sixteen tumblings a-sorting, fifteen wires a-twisting, fourteen cabs a making, thirteen rocks a-swinging, Twelve drummers drumming, Eleven pipers piping, Ten lords a-leaping, Nine ladies dancing, Eight maids a-milking, Seven swans a-swimming, Six geese a-laying, Five golden rings, Four calling birds, Three French hens, Two turtle doves, And a partridge in a pear tree!
and by the end of the year my true love will sent me a-packing along with all my rocks, tumblers, grinders, and all the rest of this "junk"
