Howdy and merry Christmas you all, Well, was out for my morning hike along the stream today and got very excited for a minute. *L* Looked down at the streams edge and darned if I didn't see the partial curve of my first ever ammonite sticking out of some gravel. Unfortunately it was only a couple of pieces but at least the largest hunk, about one third the shell, shows a nice suture pattern so I know it's definitely an ammonite. Think I now know the formation it weathered from too so maybe I can find one that's complete. Anyway, here's a pic. Thanks for looking....Mel

Mel, it looks like moving and leaving all those piles of collected rocks behind was a good thing! Have you succeeded in starting any huge new piles to move in later years? Or are they just mole hills yet T

Tony: *L* Unfortunately a new pile of pretty flint and fossils is building in the middle of my shop floor right now. Every time I go out for a hike something seems to follow me home....Mel
