I've often wondered about this though I know it can't happen. Could the number one ranked college team beat an NFL team such as the Detroit Lions who just finished their season at 0-16? I like to think they could, but the reality tells me that college kids are just that. Eight to twenty-one year olds. They are not grown men. Still, I wonder how it would be.

Here, here, to Amber and Steve. I may be from Texas, but I am not a Cowboy fan in the least.

I'd hate to be a Lion's fan. Even the Thanksgiving announcers were complaining about having to cover the team. Oh for another Barry Sanders. They've hit a streak of bad luck, bad drafts, and who knows what... but some teams turn around very quickly these days as the Miami Dolphins did this past year. Who thought the NY Giants would surpass not just the Redskins, Eagles, and Cowboys , but the Patriots too
The best College team would still get crushed by the Lions. Remember they are still professionals and in almost every game, you are only a couple of bad calls by the refs and a heroic catch (like the Giants in the SuperBowl) away from winning almost every game.

The Patriots loss was a toughie, are you a Pats fan? It does suck to be 11-5 and not make the playoffs. But the one dude at my company is such a jerk, I like everyone and I just can't stand him, well he is a huge Pats fan, and my boss and his family are Dolphin fans, so I am glad for the banter and to stick it to him I think these playoff games are going to be pretty exciting this weekend. I LOVE football, I don't want it to end. Seems baseball goes on and on forever, only 16 weeks for football. GO EAGLES!!!

I'm sort of a Pats fan. I like em but I didn't grow up in NE so I'll never have the child like loyalty of a true fan. I can see the warts, the cheating by the Coaches, etc....a true fan cannot.
The Eagles may have turned the corner. If they did, Andy Reid will replace Bill Belichek as the Genius du Jour for benching McNab
Most years 11-5 will do it, but this was not like most years. If you were in an elimination pool, you know what I mean; never seen anything like the upsets we saw this year. Indy has turned it around; maybe a Manning-Manning SuperBowl!
Football season is 16 weeks while Baseball lasts forever, hmmm. Last I checked Football season is from July to February, more than half a year. Baseball is longer, February to October, about 8 months, but not much difference there. But there are only 16 games in the regular season vs 162 for baseball...yes way too many baseball games
