I love the pics, but hot darn, that wall of rocks looks like it could tumble down if you took the wrong pebble out of it. You know you took great pics cause I felt a bit of vertigo just looking at them.
seriously though, when the ground thaws, do you have to be careful of land slide?

Nothing is moving right now. It's like concrete. But yes, when it thaws, rocks pop constantly. You also don't have to pick the wall then.
I was at this place in a downpour in the fall and it was scary. Mud rock flows, water roaring, bolders & rocks falling everywhere and I watched an entire section of wall cave in. I wish I would have had my camera.

That was really awesome! A very cold but fun trip at the perfect place. I too was a little worried about the sturdiness of that wall of rock. I sure hope you all got some nice hot chocolate after that trip! Fran

At first the cold wasn't terrible at all, but it was when we took off our gloves to pick out a rock, or take pictures, our hands got cold. Then when I was standing for too long, scouring out the decent ones, my feet got cold, we took a little break and sat down to count what we had, and my feet were warm again. I gotta say, that trip was a bit more awkward looking for other rocks, but all worth it. Definitely want to do it again. ;D
