Hi everybody! Well I cut a fairly solid hunk of poppy jasper and to my suprise, there's some Marcasite in there too. Both these cabs are good sized. The oval is 1.5" and the freeform is 1.8". Thanks for looking

That is the beauty of the stones, the surprises. I love both cabs but slightly more partial to the second. The shine on both are wonderful and I bet with the Marcasite there is just enough sparkle to give it a special twinkle. Would love to see these in the sun light.

I really like Morgan Hill. That second cab gets my vote. It would be outstanding wrapped.

Beautiful stones! Morgan Hill is a favorite of mine and it's cool you have marcasite in those pieces. I see it a lot in Hornitos Poppy with even a little gold sometimes but I've not see it before in Morgan Hill. Guess it makes sense it would be there as the deposits formed under very similar conditions but it's still an interesting find.....Mel

Very nice cabs. I love marcasite, really adds a metallic pop to the cabs.

Thanks. I got lucky with the slicing because there's no more Marcasite in that piece. The second one would be nice wrapped, that's exactly what my wife said.

Exceptional cabs there fishenman. Makes me want to cut up some of my Morgan Hill jasper and polish a few.
