With a cab machine on the way (waiting on fedex). I had been thinking about a saw. I need something to cut rocks for the new machine "RIGHT" and it just so happens that at the building our company owns we are doing some tile work So I tell them we need to rent a tile saw for the job i need to do some cuts it's $65 a day at HD to rent a saw. so I took that and headed to home depot, I'm thinkin man for a few more dollars i could get the WF and use it for rocks after the tile job. UUMMMM great idea!!!! I'm lookin at the saws and there is a ryobi 3/4 horse slide table 7" saw and comes with metal stand for 149.99. upon inspection Cause the motor is on top the blade is much more exposed. I didn't measure but it looks like you can get at least a 3" deep cut out of it. instead of the 1 7/8 you may get from the work force one. It comes with fresh water hose hook up in rear and a drain hose hook up on other side. So for the cost of a WF I got the Ryobi. So in the cart it went. Not a bad deal, it should do just fine for trimming and doing some slabs. think I could incorporate one of those weight and rope power feeds to it oh yeah and they had a whole rack of those Hotdog blades I hear you all speak of. so the HD guy hands me one with a tore up package and writes 25% off. SWEEEET thank you have a nice day. Thanks for lookin and Any input appreciated Steve

That's a great deal! The 2 inch cut from the Workforce is a problem for me too, that's the deal I'm looking for.

Im not sure but i think that was a standard price. I got in a Florida HD so not sure if the carry them country wide. if nt i'm sure you can get it on line It's the Model WS730. The only draw back is it doesn't come with a water supply pump if you just want to use the tray for your water supply. but a small pump can be plugged right in to the intake hose and set in the bottom of pan or you hook the little suppy hose to the garden hose hookup on side for full time fresh water. The blade was reg.44.95 and i got it for like 33 or something.

Home Depots pretty much all carry the same stock as far as I know. I just gotta save some cash now.

That looks like a sweet saw. I really wish my tile saw could cut 3" without having to roll the rock. It's my only complaint though.

After finishing the tile job i had to do it was time for some fun. I purchased this large Geode from a pet store a few months ago. unable to see the inside till the saw came along. the rock was a full sort of round longated Geode about 9-10 " long and atleast 6" accross. I was able to get it cut in half on this saw( i did have to rotate the rock) but in a few short min. i was lookin in the inside (was solid and not muck to look at but once it's all slice up i'll cab it. will make great startin material (for new cab mach.)
One draw back sofarwith this saw it with the motor and housing mounted on top and and the slide tray its hard to do anything taller then the housing. I had to remove slide tray and hold the geode in mt hands to make the cut. Not to hard and with some practice i will be more proficient. But if it fits under it it slices just nice. It even came with a 45 degree wedge to mount on the slide try for angle cuts.

WaHoo!!! Way to justify a rock saw! . @ 5800 rpm's, it's a bit fast for most rock cutting so be careful.
