Hello, everyone! These are the first two cabs I've made this year. In the first days of the year we were not home and then when we returned we were pretty busy. You'll see with what we were busy if you scroll down. Here is the first one: New material (for me) in a new year. It's the first time when I'm cabbing Tiger Eye. And this is the second one: To me it looks exactly like a landscape from the Monument Valley: But it could be just me, because today we got the visas for our planned trip! ;D This is what we were busy with those days. ;D It really was an important milestone in our trip, we can really look forward for our vacation now. And, Rich, you know what? You were right, there's both blue and red on that visa . There's also some gold, as I hope the memories from this planned vacation will turn into. Well, back to the cabs, here are two more pics of them: Thank you for looking, Adrian

Ah the master returns. Really nice cabs Adrian. I like the way you oriented the tiger eye vertically and you are right the other does remind me of monument valley.

Very nice work! I love the Tiger's eye. The second one looks like Rocky Butte picture jasper.

Happy new year, Adrian! Those are both beautiful cabs to start of the new year right! I really love how you've oriented the tiger eye...that's a material I've not worked yet, either.

Great wraps and cabs. I love that Tigereye. It is a long time fav of mine. The other does look like the monument valley.
That's great that you got you visas because even though we all aren't going with you we know we will feel like we had when you post your pics. Oh, I do love going on the trips you post.

Congratulations on the visas. Those were probably the hardest part of your trip.
I love the shape for the vertical Tigers Eye and your groove wrap is perfect for the picture Jasper. Excellent job!!!

Thank you very much everyone! Highplainsdrifter, you're right about the Rocky Butte. You must be really good at ID, not only at cabbing, if you were able to recognize the material so well. Rocky Butte is one of my favorite picture jaspers, as it gave me one of my favorite cabs I've done till now (the one in the midle of the next photo): I see in this cab the image of a blonde lady with a fancy hat and an old-fashion dress, others see a bursting volcano. Great cabs and wraps Adrian! The tiger eye is sweet and in the last pic, the middle one is a bomb! ( Don't say that in the airport ;D ) My favorite though is the wood on the left.
Glad to hear the good news about your visa! Wish you could make it to Texas.

... My favorite though is the wood on the left. ... Curt Yes, Curt, it's hard to beat the pet wood from down-under. That's a Chinchilla piece coming from Mike. Adrian

Hi Adrian,
You have such a fine and delicate approach to your wraps, and this pair are so lovely. The Picture Jasper has a great shape in both profile and plan, I particularly like the slightly sharper edge you ground on this one, it gives it an even more 3D effect, and the scene is really cool. I am still struck by the beauty of the blue sky and the sandy earths. Looking at your bails, they have an incredibly even and neat appearance, you did a super job!
The Tiger Eye is an amazing wrap though Mate, the length and evenness of the stone are fantastic. I have always had such a soft spot for Tiger Eye, ever since I saw it as a kid, it was the first tumble stone I collected, and the first stone I polished. but your is absolutely gorgeous, one of the best I've ever seen. It's Magnificent! ;D ;D ;D
Thanks so much for sharing your talents and inspiring us to try more! ;D
Cheers,
Sparkles.

Some lucky person is going to get to wear Monument Valley around their neck! Love that place and I am jealous that it won't be me! The Tiger's eye is lovely! I love the shape of the stone and the wrap fit's it perfect! The the middle one in the last pic I am drooling over. Beautiful!

Beautiful work, Adrian! As always from the groove king! I love the shield cab with the face groove in the other pic...what a great look!! Hey, did you arrange a shipping container for all the tons of rock you are sure to find? YOu might just ought to rent a tractor trailer rig and just fill it up as you go, then onto the docks at the end of your trip! Tony

Wow! They are both wonderful and you got a great shine on them! Very nice work. I like the monument valley groove wrap a bunch! I thought it looked like a mesa right away!
Glad to hear you got your visa too!!! That's great! Steve
