Well done to all of you that tried this. Naturenut is the winner !!! Well done naturenut, you certainly deserve it, because I know you certainly must have been searching like a lady possessed. ;D ;D Here is the clue and how it was worked out by myself: CLUE Made from RED ELM. Forever in Blue Jeans, this Hint, will Indicate the Item Number Immediately.Made from Red Elm - an anagram - Red Elm - DremelForever in Blue Jeans - a song by Neil Diamond - Diamondthis Hint - hint (hnt) n. a. A brief or indirect suggestion; a tip: stock-trading hints. b. A statement conveying information in an indirect fashion; a clue: Give me a hint about the big news. - Tipwill Indicate the item Number Immediately - in·di·cate (nd-kt) tr.v. indi·cat·ed, indi·cat·ing, indi·cates 1. To show the way to or the direction of; point out: an arrow indicating north; indicated the right road by nodding toward it. - PointSo we have, Dremel, Diamond, Tip, Point type all of those into the ebay search bar and it only gives one item. And here is the screen dump of my ebay watched items: You will notice, just for those that doubt this was the item I had first selected, that the 2 middle items have a time of 7 days 16 hours to run (at time of taking screen dump.)

Thanks!
Just in case anyone wanted to know how I got it, I had diamond, but wasn't sure if blue was also a clue. Then, I was on red elm being slippery elm used for glue and consequently a lubricant, but couldn't nail down if it was an ingredient in a lapidary superglue type epoxy, which would have worked with the word "crack" in the last clue. So I hit all the Opticons and epoxys that I could. Then, I used a word scramble helper website to work on red elm some more and got the words "melded" and "delmer". So I was looking for a type of solder, but I felt that the diamond part wasn't fitting in, so I looked at melded and delmer and a light bulb went off... duh. Then, when I saw how many diamond dremel items there were, I complained. ;D So, I thought it might have been the one that was stickied at the top, because in the first clue, RT said that we'd see it immediately. But, it was a set and it didn't seem like it was right, so I just picked out various diamond dremel items. No clue how I hit the right one. LOL. Got up this AM expecting to get another clue and try to narrow it down some more. LOL.

I had wondered if the last phrase was also part of the hint. If it had been another person's contest (say, Lady B or Sparkles (LOL!)) I would have been especially suspicious of it.
Now that we know your style...we're on to you. Bring on the next contest!
Whoops! And congrats, Naturenut!

I never would have got it thinking like this. I had diamond. I was also going by lapidary cause you said it had to do with lapidary. Actually I did see that auction but again I was looking for items of lapidary. Oh well, Congratulations Naturenut. Tigger

Paul. LOL! I saw that you found Rogue Trader items and I lost it! About that time, I was looking at diamond shaped, motorcycle side mirrors that were coated with something, so it could be called lapidary (looked up the definition of lapidary). I was on glue and lube when you and looked and saw you were into guitars! I thought, "guitars are made of red elm? hmmm, didn't know that." LOL. Thank goodness he stopped us from going into the records, cds, books and dvds. LOL. Paul, I should really be sharing this with you! I will always take being called an animal as a compliment. LOL.

What ddya mean?!?? We plays fair! ('ish!) I shall take it as a compliment anyway! I probably shouldn't mention but there's some "brewing" occurring as we speak.... Better get some practice in folks - there's a whole lot of fun around the corner! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Congratulations Rogue, you had 'em on the run there! Very cunning plan! I like it! Cheers, Sparkles.

Thanks Sweetie! I just got lucky. Hey Rogue... what was the "lateral thinking" thing all about? ? Jo Lateral thinking is methods of thinking concerned with changing concepts and perception. Lateral thinking is about reasoning that is not immediately obvious and about ideas that may not be obtainable by using only traditional step-by-step logic.

Now that we know your style...we're on to you. Bring on the next contest! 'Twould seem that my dearest Buddy - Sparkles - and I have been maligned!!!! Why would anyone be suspicious of a contest we sponsor? ?? Oh, right...Ronda and Tigger and Mel and Adrian and a few others perhaps have had lots of experience with the " contests" that Harry and I have sponsored!!!! ;D ;D ;D [glow=red,2,300]BUT![/glow] No one can ever again accuse me of being the only member of this wonderful Forum who gives convoluted clues and drives all contestants MAD, I tell you, simply MAD!!!! Mr. Trader did a wonderful job of torturing our minds!!!! ;D ;D ;D When I saw the first clue I took a look outside the box and considered that Jean is French for John and so went looking for Blue John items - especially since the Blue John mine has been there for just about forever!! AND Mr. Trader lives across the pond. And... ;D This was a devilishly devious contest...just the sort I love. Congrats, Naturenut!!! Ya done good! Oh, and Harry my dear, I'm just about ready to instigate some "rocking good fun" here at RTH. And I promise this little contest will definitely involve thinking inside the box!!! ;D ;D ;D Lady B - maligned but rightly so! ;D
