Happy New Year to all! I've been SOOOO out of the loop here lately, working, family, all good things, but not much cabbing fitting in. However, I did get a few done that I gave as Christmas gifts. The pear shaped cab I haven't wrapped yet, but will give that to my boss for her birthday. I was really excited about this stuff when I started slabbing it, but I have NO IDEA what it is-I'm thinking maybe opalized wood? Any ideas? Thanks for looking! kj

KJ, Really nice cabs. I'm thinking the pear-shaped possibly Montana Agate. It's good to see some cabs...the boards has been dead lately. Steve

Thanks Steve. They're actually from the same rock-i got several slabs from the centre with the "inclusion" (what is it really called?) Guess it's been too cold to cab! I know I haven't hit the wheels in almost 2 months.

KJ, I guess that would throw Montana Agate out. It does have a nice fortification in the center. Steve

Maybe you had been out of the loop, but it seems it's like riding a bike: once you learned it's never forgotten. Both of your cabs proove it. The pear is my favorite.

Both are very nice but I think I like the pear one best. I sure hope it warms enough for you to get back at it soon! Fran

The pear is gorgeous! Nice work with twisted wire. I have a heck of a time with the twisted stuff. T

Thanks everyone! I had another heart that I made with this that had the same centre as the pear-should have taken a pic-it looked really pretty. Wish I knew what it was though! I'll post pics after I wrap the pear.
Texas hit with the coldest weather this winter, so guess I'll be staying inside! KJ

Beautiful work KJ,
Those cabs are really super, the Agate is particularly beautiful with it's gentle banding and the soft light coming through the centre. You got a great shape and shine on them, I always impressed by heart shaped stones. Your Boss must be very lucky indeed judging by that sparkler! Thanks for sharing your piccys, it's great to see such beautiful work.
Cheers,
Sparkles.

Wow that heart is exquisite! Grinding hearts is my passion right now and I want to learn wire wrapping. But first I need to get my technique down on the hearts. There very challenging and you pic is an inspiration!
