Very tricky as the encoding can be a real pain. My son told me to try to just rip and burn it through Media Player (or the software that came with the DVD burner) You may lose the menus and screen options- but the movies them selves should stay intact.

could you hook up an extra dvd player and record it as you played it thu the first one ? --- I use to do that when I copied tapes, cd's , etc. from the tv. ---- I borrowed a game when I first got the computer and tried to copy it on dvd's -- as soon as it hit the "copy" part , it went black and then on the screen it said something like "you tried to copy this , you S O && !!" and burnt up the orignal dvd ---- had to go to town and buy a new one for the guy I borrowed it from !! ;D
