I had a nice package in the mail yesterday. I ordered some of the beautiful Ghost wood and Labradorite that Texaswoodie was selling and boy oh boy, is it nice! Not only what I ordered but he sent me these really pretty pieces of wonderstone(?) with it. Thank you so much Curt! Fran

Frane, that is a great box of goodies. The way the Ghost wood is next to each other it looks like a pair of wings.

Nice slabs. Is that labradorite the lavakite type?

I really don't know Tony. Now that you mention it, it does look like it. Lots of pockets of blue flashes in it instead of a sheet layer. It is really pretty. Fran

Tony I looked up Lavakite on mindat and there is no such thing. Must be a popular name. This doesn't have the solid flash all across the slab. It has smaller flashes all across it. Found some Lavakite pics in a Google search and it looks similar.

Curt: *S* That's because its Larvakite not lavakite. It's the name for a Scandinavian form of labradorite often used for decorative work in homes....Mel
PS: At the Fredericksburg show today I got a few slices of a really strange wood from Texas that I think you've posted before. I'll take some pics and maybe you can ID it for me.

Curt, I love the Labradorite/Larvakite and I am looking forward to Mel showing us the wood he got. It really sounds like the Fredricksburg show was a good one!...Oh, how I miss Texas. Fran
