First off, the winners prize: Agate Creek Agate from Australia. Not common stuff in the States folks. I am friends with someone who has a friend in AU and he ships this to him so Im basically getting it from the source. But even so, it is really hard to get ahold of and I pay good money to get it here, so I generally HOARD it. ;D Several small slabs cut from whole nodules, ranging in size from 1"x1" to 2 1/2"x 2 1/2" (one is an endcut) : And for your cutting pleasure, a small, uncut chunk showing pink and white water lines on one edge. Just the right size for a WF saw: THE CONTEST: As most of you know from my gushing posts and fuzzy baby photos, I am getting a puppy soon. My two hobbies in life are motorcycles and rocks......or is that rocks and motorcycles (I would hate to be forced to decide which I like more) and so the puppy's first name has already been decided. She was named "Dyna" after one of our Harleys. But names are important to me and so I think she needs a middle name on her pedigree papers as well..........I would like for my forum friends to help. Your job: To give puppy "Dyna" a middle name. The middle name needs to have a nice ring to it when paired with the first name Dyna and the name must have something to do with rocks or lapidary in general. My puppy will then officially have a rockin Harley name LOL Guess as many times as you'd like until Tuesday, January 20th. If I choose your name, you will win the Agate Creek agate prize. I will announce the winner on Wednesday, January 21st. Thanks for playing and good luck!!! Shannon

Dyna Rex! It sounds simple, has geological co-notations too (T-rex), and "Rex" is a name that surely catches the attention of a dog. Thanks for the contest! If I win, I will make to Rex a groove wrap from a dino bone to put it on the collar. Coul it be even T-rex maybe. Or is this bribery? Adrian

So, Dyna Mite (a prospecting tool, right?) would be a little too much, huh?
Dyna Thunder (for thunder egg) seems mighty powerful for a wee little girl like her...
Dyna Gem has a nice ring to it,
but I also like Dyna Druze, as I'm sure she'll have a sparkling personality.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love thinking up puppy names?

If she is anything like the pups I have had then: Dyna Coprolite would be appropriate. John

Hmmm, anyone else think naturenut's dyna matrix is a bit like dominatrix? Was that intentional? (Oops, sorry! I couldn't help myself. Bad girl, bad!)
And Dyna Mohs (dynamos) is great, too! Can I vote for two?
What's that... I'm supposed to make up a name myself??
Hmmmm.
I'll have to think some more!

You will trasure her like gold after all, won't you?
Adrian
PS. Hey, if this one wins, I WON'T make a golden nugget pendant! ;D
