Got some goodies AND found out that the guy up the road from me is going to have a cab making class. Going to start in March and only costs $1/hr! Here's some pics These little ones cost 25 cents each. So, got a bunch for when I start learning. Don't know what this is, but I love it! Love that mook! I love this one. Never seen it before and, of course, I forgot what it is! This one is my absolute favorite. Don't know what it is, neither did the guy I bought it from. Az. pet wood. I love this stuff! Other side of Az. pet wood. Wish I would have gotten a couple more of this to bust up and tumble.

Llana: Man that show was mobbed *L*. Fire laws wouldn't have allowed lanes that narrow at our shows back in Cally. We had to have ten foot wide minimum main aisles. Got there and met our friends and came back to the ranch for a rock and fossil hunt. Cold but fun. I can ID those for ya: The pink one appears to be rhodonite. The green and red is Ruby in fuschite from India ( sometimes called Sultan's Ruby). The brecciated piece is Butterfly wing which is a nodular form of jasper/agatized rhyolite out of Mexico. I only picked up a few slabs myself but did manage to add two new things to my collection. I'll take pics tomorrow. Sorry I missed you there....Mel

Looks like you have some great finds! I think that second one is rhodonite and the green with pink spots is petrified sponge if I was told correctly when I bought a piece. Have fun cabbing! Fran

OMG llanago is back! How are you? Remember me? The electricals brought me back! Yes, I do remember you. So many new people, so few old people still here - or they don't post as often as we used to. Guess the electricals got them too! ;D I'm good. And you? llana

The green is either ruby in fuschite as Mel said or ruby in zoisite. The black band is more common in zoisite but the green (unless it is the photo) looks more like fuschite. Where was the show? The rhodonite is maybe from CO.

Fran There were so many great slabs, I really had a hard time NOT buying everything I saw and loved! Didn't want to be on a Spam diet the rest of the month. The only thing I didn't get - and could kick myself - is a slab of Biggs. There were several I looked at and THOUGHT I had gotten one until I got home and looked. llana
