I just checked the HD web site and there is a work force saw listed for $88 that I haven't noticed before. It appears to have some minor differences from the one I just bought, and may be a new model. So, it looks like the discontinued saw is just being replaced with a new model rather than being done away with entirely.
I also need a little advice- I was making slabettes yesterday and apparently was forcing the blade a lirrle roo muck. I wore out the edge and got a curled rim by letting the wayer get low, I guess- sometimes I got a lot of sparks. I want to replace my blade and there is an MK 225 availabkle at HD online for $21.00- I think it is on sale because they advertised it as "while supplies last". it is called a continuous rim but has expansion slots cut into it DOes anyone know anything about this blade? Is it REALLY a continuous rim if it has thopse slots? Or, does it have to be grooved like the turbo NOT to ne a continuous rim blade? I wouls also appreciate an opinion on a cheap, high quality 6" X 1/2" X 12 mil blade for my trim saw. Sintered blades are pretty pricey and I need one. I got stupid and yuined my last one, too. The best deal seems to be $34 for a Pro Slicer from Graves, but I really hate doing business with them. They are often painfully slow filling orders. Thanks, all.

Regarding the WorkForce Saw: The original one we all have is being discontinued and is being replaced by a different model WorkForce Saw. Different vendor/manufacturer. The box that it comes in is about half the size of the original W/F. I asked about it & was told that the newer model had a system that brought water up to the blade, similar to a water pump, but in fact did not have a water pump. So I guess we will have to wait to hear from someone who buys this newer model. By the way they are both 7" tile wet saws.

WorkForce brand saws BLADES on ebay are junk. Not the same WF. Quality varies, but have heard repeated reports of JUNK. Used to be an 800 number to get replacement blades form WF factory, but costs less to buy other quality blades.
MK 225 at $21 seems like a good price.
As for the new saw, it starts out at ZERO until proven otherwise. WHile a metal frame and a 3/4hp motor helped the old model along, it was always the blade. For some reason that tile saw shipped with a better than average blade. Doubt the new one will - especially if from a different manufacturer.
Put a MK 225 blade in almost any metal frame tilesaw with at least 1/2hp motor any you have as good as the WF. I like my WF, but never was anything magial about it.

Howdy....My WF is still cutting strong after 2 years. Can't seem to wear the original blade out! I just put a pro-slicer on my lortone 10 inch and it works. there is only about 2 mm of diamond on the rim so we will see how long it lasts. After 3 weeks its still sawing OK. Not especially smooth. I do not think I would recomend the Pro-Slicer for a WorkForce. It needs something with at least a few more teeth............Bob
