See now THAT is the photo that should be in the Rock Monster thread. Those little monsters are the worst, always stealing your rocks, using your equipment..... Shannon PS-What a cute little Rock Monster

Wow! you have been busy! It looks like you have a good little helper too. I sure hope your wife has a speedy recovery. Surgeries can sometimes be tricky with healing afterwords. Just takes time. Fran

Well John I guess Kendal got upset that you weren't putting that saw to good use. I'm glad SOMEONE is using it. lol Tell her she picked nice material to slab.

Wow cute baby and one heck of a rock saw operator too *L*. Beautiful bunch of cuts! I got to get me a new slab saw! Your unknown is Oaxaca Travertine also known as Desert Dunes Jasper (not a jasper though) or Guadalupe Picture Rock/Jasper. One of my favorites to cab but scratches and dulls easily when used in jewelry. Mohs only 4 or so and a calcium carbonate/silicate mix material. I've always thought the straighter grained pieces of this are what they dye to make that fake looking Rainbow Calsilica crap....Mel

Mel. If you think she is cute then I know she is!! Picture 6 is Oaxaca Travertine also known as Desert Dunes Jasper. Right? What about pic 10?
Cid, She is sitting on my 14" Texas Rock saw.
Chuck, I picked those up in acreek just north o Hamilton, IL
Thanks all! No time here for cabbing, but I can set the saw and come back later!!

John: Pic #10 looks to be brecciated jasper but man, that comes from a lot of places. Doesn't look like Stone Canyon or the other California Franciscan jaspers and it does show dendrites so it would not surprise me if it came from around Burro creek in Arizona....Mel

OK John, you do know there are child labor laws?
Nice slabs! Looks like that saw is getting a workout.

Those slabs are really pretty and so neatly displayed. I noticed the Mickey Mouse ball under the slab table. At least you had something to play with while she was slabbing. I hope your wife recovers quickly.

If you're lucky, she'll find the sound of the saw to be soothing! (Only kidding, I know you would never subject her tender newborn ears to that kind of sound. At least, not while she's on top of it!)
Very cool stuff you cut there. That must have been some hunk of OJ to get that many slabs out of it!

Those are beautiful slabs and the baby is beautiful - but why is she crying? Have you forgotten to feed her as you were slabbing all those rocks?

Those are terrific slabs, but sorry, your beautiful baby outdoes them by a mile.
