A few weeks ago I had Naturenut and her BF over to try their hand at cabbing. They brought me a little thank you gift. OK so its not little, it weighs over 30 pounds! According to Jo its citrine. I know nothing about identifying rocks so I'll take her word. I'm pretty sure its NOT going to fit on the Workforce. lol I'm going to have to try and bust this sucker up with a chisel and hammer. I banged on it last night for a few minutes and it is solid. It looks very gemmy so I'm really anxious to get it slabbed. Thanks Jo.

The rock is huge! And beautiful, especially out in the sunlight! I can't believe the things that Jo drags out of that park! She finds really cool stuff. I sort of hate to see this smashed up, because it is so pretty the way it is, but then I think of the cabs it will make! Thanks Jo, for a great specimen! Amber

Well, if anybody can get that sucker slabbed and cabbed, it's you guys! LOL. Not only did I give you a project, it doubles as a stress relieving tool! Let us know how it goes!!! Jo

DON'T bust that chunk with a hammer or chisel!!! You're very liable to end-up with a lot of badly damaged little pieces and a LOT of waste! I strongly suggest that you save it til you either get a saw big enough to properly slab it, or have the opportunity to have someone with a big saw slab it for you. Citrine is FAR too precious to be busted-up.
If it were me, I would keep that stone exactly as it is and display it. Big chunks of Citrine are very beautiful (very valuable, too!). Use smaller pieces for lapidary.

Okay... Tony, I'm sorry for the sick cruel joke then. LOL. Giving you a rock that you can't cab! Shame on me. :nono:
Tony, now I owe you a Sharpie pen AND a couple of WF sized pieces of Citrine!!! Some gift! ROTFL.

Jo; I saw it over at his house today and I really don't think it should be busted up! I hope maybe someday in the future if we live together, it would be the neatest thing to put in our yard! He had it outside for awhile and it looked so pretty in the snow with the sunlight! I think I will suggest not breaking it up!
I know you are going to find the next Hope diamond in that park!
