Well last week I posted this cab of Biggs that I made. Well this week I talked my friend into teaching me some silversmithing and this is my first pendant or anything else with silver. It is quite fun, but a lot more challenging than I originally though it would be. I will definitely be making more. The pendant is made of 20 gauge sterling and 26 gauge fine for the bezel. Jason

That's beautiful! You can thank your friend for teaching you well, and give yourself a big pat on the back for a job well done! It sure helps to start with good material. That's definitely a "keeper"!!!!!!

That is the way to set that beautiful cab! Nice work for your first project! You seem to have a natural knack for picking up on new things!

that is really impressive. I loved that stone when you posted it before and now your smithing is very good. I have been trying my hand at it and know how well you have done! Tony

Working Silver is hard. I have done a little, but not near as nice as that. Great job.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I think I have about 12 hours of labor into this pendant including cutting the stone. It sure was a lot of work but I am very OCD when it comes to certain things having to be perfect or as close to it as possible. I find that Lapidary work is perfect place to put it to work for me. Plus it's something my wife does not mind me spending time on as she ends up with the jewelry.

Very nice nice job, and especially for your first one. Time wise that sounds just about right. I think I had 3 hours just in soldering my first piece.
