Don’t you just love it when we are having so much FUN?!?!?
Here is the fourth official puzzle in Lady B's Rocking Sudoku!!! Contest.
This fourth puzzle is The Gemstone Category, and the Keyword for this puzzle is: MORGANITE. - Morganite is a rare light pink to rose-colored gem-quality variety of the mineral beryl, which is better known for its green variety (emerald) and its blue variety (aquamarine). Morganite was named for financier (and gem and mineral collector) J. P. Morgan. Orange/yellow varieties of morganite can also be found, and color banding is common. The mineral turns pinker upon high-temperature treatment.
Morganite was first discovered together with other gemstone minerals, such as tourmaline and kunzite, at Pala, California, early in the twentieth century. This started a bonanza for these quite popular gemstones which drew the attention of gemologist George Frederick Kunz, who knew that pink beryl was quite a rarity.
In 1911, Kunz suggested naming the pink variety of beryl "Morganite" after J.P. Morgan (the famous financier), his biggest customer at the New York jeweler Tiffany's. Ever since, the stone has held a certain popularity with Tiffany's, though it still remains a relatively scarce gem.
Morganite is also known as "pink beryl," or in the jewelry trade as "pink emerald."
The hardness is 7.5-8 on the Mohs hardness scale.
I just love all of the beryls – especially the pinks and the blues. My good Buddy across the Pond sent me one of the pinks and I found some of the prettiest blue beryls when I went on a wonderful trip to NC with my hubby. I wonder what some of your favorite stones might be.

My only hope is that the difficulty of the puzzle not to be proportional to the value of the stone that gives the name of that puzzle. But I have a feeling it is so Adrian PS. update: morganite is an understatement, you might had named it koh-i-noor (the diamond, not the pencils brand ;D )

Damn, I'm stuck! After completing 14 letters, I'm stuck! That's another "surprize" for a beginner sudoku solver like me: I was convinced that once it's started it only gets more and more easy. WRONG!

YAY!!! I can finally move on to the Four Star!!
One problem though .... I can't find my pencils and erasers!
I honestly wonder if the dog took them ....
I did find a somewhat easier way to work with the pages instead of being in eraser hell.
Open the word document and work it from there.
Thanks Again Lady B!!

Just FYI ...
I am determined to finish the last three puzzles by the 17th!!!
The rest of you crazies can duke it out!! ;D
Approaching these from a different point of view is making it a bit easier, but .... after a while they are all a blur ....
Oh ya .... while I was in college I learned that if you had the $$ (I never had the guts) you could buy term papers ... Amazingly enough ... I came across this ad!!
I found it in a weekly puzzle magazine ...
Tired of seeing the same grid everyday? Tired of seeing the same letters swimming in and out of your vision? Tired of having to make midnight runs to Staples and Starbucks? Are you mesmerized or mortified by a grid master who snickers madly?
I'd give them a call, but someone tore the number right out of the magazine!!

WOW!! I would have loved to see that newspaper ad before the number got torn out! I've been getting some hang-up calls and now I'm wondering if someone posted my home number!! BTW: It has been pointed out to me by several people that the Internet does have sites that will automatically solve a Sudoku. I already knew that. Not a problem, really, since RTHers would never " cheat". And the final puzzle has 256 cells instead of the traditional 81! ;D Kate
