I am going to a gun and knife show next weekend. I have been taking some tumbled stones a selling a few, so I hung a bail on a few. I shot a few close-ups Some of which are not real sharp! Also, two prime examples of the most expensive breed of dog known to man.

Nice pieces! Thanks! Have you ever sold any at gun shows before?

Those are nice! I am also curious. I have seen antique jewlery at gun and knife shows but nothing like those.

There is always a few tables of jewelry at the shows in my area, though nothing quite like mine. It's worth a try. Not costing me anything extra.

You should be able to see those easily! They are pretty and you don't see rock pendants everywhere like you do other kinds of jewelry. That it itself is a great selling point. People like unique - or at least a alot of folks do!
I like those bails. What kind are they?

We have been looking at the gun & knife shows for seting up a table to sell. Let us know how it goes and photos of your table before the selling starts would be nice.

The show turned out pretty good. I sold I sold 4 or 5 pendants and a hand full of rocks which was on par with the rest of the stuff I had. As you can see CUL-ANN, my setup is pretty simple I rent two tables and my setup is pretty standard Biob

Do you drill the top and insert or just glue to the back?

These just glue on the back. I use E6000 glue and clean the excess off with a dremel tool.

I think you'd be surprised at where rocks sell at. I have my uniform store and have some of the regular (normal) jewelry I used to make in there, then will put the pendants that I make (Randy taught me) from the tumbled and vibe polished stuff. The rock stuff sells more regularly. Once I get rid of all my "normal" jewelry stuff and beads, I just want to make rock related stuff and thats all.
I've been doing farmer's markets for years, mostly sell my candles and veggies and herbs that I've grown. Last year, at the end of the season, had 2 boxes of drusy and some slabs in the van that were left from a rock show. I figured can't hurt anything, set a table up and put the rocks on there. I sold $50 worth of drusy in the hour, only had a few more markets left after that and sold a lot of the small pieces. I was shocked, never had thought of the rocks there. People love rocks, they may not be total rockhounds like all of us here, but people are drawn to them.

I've always thought that human beings are innately rockhounds (three million years of evolution doesn't just vanish!). It seems like some people simply (like me) have an interest that crosses that threshold from passing fascination with pretty ones to all-consuming obsession with all things geological... Hence, it's probably worthwhile to bring rock merchandise to places not normally associated with rocks: no competition for attention!
