NICE!!! The stones look like miniature mountain ridges with snow along their tops!

Great looking batch! I've got a few pounds I've wanted to try. Guess I'll give it a shot. Hope it comes out near as good as yours! Thanks for sharing! Renter Dan

Very nice looking stuff. It must be very rewarding to work with rocks you find your self.

Thanks everybody... Yes, it is definately rewarding to work with the rocks I've collected myself. My father and my grandfather got me into rockhounding and lapidary work, and now I'm doing the same with my son. It's a wonderful way to spend a summer day, out collecting rocks with my son...and we are fortunate to live in an area with so many different specimens to collect...

Those are quite impressive. I like the prevalence of the layers lengthwise down each piece, but with neat color contrasts. It's like a color study in art class, with various shades of caramel and dolce de leche.

Mike, thanks for the great photo! I have tons of that stuff--BUT I never found any jade with it ---remember I told you I wouldn't find jade if it bit me on the butt----- The photo is great. Nona

I seem to find that exact type of onyx in several different areas I hunt for jade...I'm guessing they are probably both formed under similar geologic conditions
