AIN'T IT THE TRUTH?!!! Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG ). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA ), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA ) After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA ) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO ) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN ) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA ) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY ) filled it with GAS (from Saudi Arabia ) and continued his search for a good paying job. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia ), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL ) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE ) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA ), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in United States .
Y'all gotta Keep this one circulating, please.!

I did some quick research and found a site that lists American made products. I did a quick scan of the site and then added it to my favorites. Here is the link. www.stillmadeinusa.com/appliances.htmltomorrow I'm going to copy your post, add my own message and I am going to include that link. A lot of people have no idea where to find or just what products and name brands are made in America. The link might help get people to act on this, myself included. Thanks for posting this. Americans need to start taking back what is rightfully theirs - the OPPORTUNITY to work.

I guess you can be proud that the whole world works for us (rather than the other way around)...still most people would rather be doing things for themselves, especially rock tumblers

Instead of bailing out the auto industry why did we not let them restructure under chapter 11 and take that money and give vouchers to Americans who bought American?
How about knocking $5,000.00 off the price of each American made car or truck? This would bail them out, give us a break and stimulate the economy all at once.
This could be done with all kinds of American made products. Combine this with tax cuts and we might be able to turn this economy around.

Thanks for the link on USA made products. Informative! Especially the tool section! Diamond Machining Technology (DMT). That's something all of us grinder use. USA makes great cutting tools! The company listed are all incorporated, most likely. But there are many small businesses that do excellent work also. Cherokee Saw & Tool in Arizona is one of them. They manufacture cutting tools for the wood cutting industry. Excellent products!
But it is a sad commentary. Does seem like all America makes is debt. edmost

John mentioned the bailout of the American auto industry. Let's face it, they've been making poorly designed, poorly built, unreliable products. They've proven, for decades, that they cannot offer as good a product as the Japanese. So, why should THE TAXPAYERS bail them out? What MIRACLE is going to happen to turn that around? They're going to go right back to building crappy automobiles and end-up in the same bind.
Pffft ... Ford claims to now have better quality than Toyota ... yeah right ... when pigs fly ... maybe. Let's hear from those Ford owners after they have 300,000 miles on their cars.
My 1994 Dodge pickup with 120,000 miles is ready for the salvage yard. Steve's Toyota pickup with almost 200,000 miles purrs like a new vehicle. This is the norm, not the exception.

MJ My 1/2 ton Ford Pick up has 650, xxx miles. Thats right over 1/2 million miles and going strong. I agree allot of their stuff is junk, but there are good products too. Buy the best and leave the rest, that is how we convince them to do better! By competition in America, for American dollars buying American products.
Lets start to believe in each other again, support each other and lets turn this Country back to it's glory days. It can be done!!!
