With a one month old in the house and temperatures in the 60's today. Peyton and I decided to go for a Mozarkite dig. He has gone from "Only Child Superstar" to "Older Brother Servant" and we have been doing special things with him to remind him he is still a Star. This was a wonderful day of father/son time and I was in heaven. We drove out through Amish Country. Things are still brown here. A lot to be said for the "Simple Life". A little ice still on the creek edges. Ponds are clear. Peyton was covered with mud in about 10 minutes and had a blast. He is a cool dude! He was wore slick! We found a few good ones and these are primo! That round one by the metal hammer neck is a perfect nodule and I can't wait to cut it! These are a lesser grade and will go into The Rock Garden! Thanks for looking! John

Great pics John! My kids are 10 and 13 and I still take them on trips separately. Its really important for them to always have some one on one time.
I cant wait till you cut that whole nodule either! I love mozarkite......you can cut 5 slices out of one chunk and each one will look as if it came from a different rock. You just never know what you will get.

These are great pics. I always said the dirtier a kid gets the more fun he/she has had.
That pic of Peyton holding the rock is really special. You may not have noticed but look at the shadows of the two of you. That is an awesome picture.

You make a great team! And I bet that team will be enlarged in no-time with your little daughter. No wonder if her first word would be "rock" Very nice finds, but that picture with Peyton totally exhausted beats them all! Adrian

Great rocks, great photos, and as awesome rock hounding family adventure!
My five year old collected quartz and quartzite from our road all summer and is currently tumbling them (in the medium grind right now). He has been asking to go on a real rock hounding trip. Your photos inspire me to that end!
