Hi Summer, MM are ok a bit dearer for rough rock I use Burhouses in Huddersfiels ( but they do need a business card) it's a hudge warehouse and you need 1/2 a day to go round it selling finished stuff , findingd specimens , fociels, as well as rough rock in 1lb (or 1 Kg)boxes or loose. A place to be definatly visited if your interested in rocks www.burhouse.com/Here is another supplier www.ukge.co.uk/UK/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=384And a good suplier in the deep west of uk www.stonepolishing.co.uk/have a good day Jack Yorkshire UK

Summer, I burnish (or wash in Borax) for about 24 hrs. after every stage. If I am using pellets or tile spacers, they are also burnished. Basically, I empty the barrel in a strainer over a 5 gal bucket (don't want to wash it down the drain), rinse whatever is in the strainer (also over the 5 gal bucket), then put it all back in the barrel with Borax and run it for 24 or so hrs. Then I sort thru the rocks and pull out any that are ready for the next stage, add new rocks to replace those, add the pellets/tile spacers and grit, then back on the tumbler. Even though I always wash the pellets/tile spacers along with the rocks, I do keep the pellets/tile spacers for that stage grit separate from those I use in the other grits. carlocinco, most of the tile spacers do float, but I've gotten some that don't. Even the ones that don't float are easier (for me anyway!) than the pellets. LCARS - the pellets work fine, but I really hate them! ;D I also have a couple of lbs. of them, so I do use them, but when they are all used it, it's tile spacers for me!

I bought a sack of the tile spacers last weekend and will try some soon. I may cut them into Vees with loping shears. No good reason, just because. Thanks
