This is Agate Creek agate from Australia (the same material that was the prize in one of my recent contests). Of all of the ACA nodules I have cut, this is the first one I have ever seen that looked like this...most are banded. What a nice surprise! Enjoy! Shannon

That is definitley Bib worthy! I like how it shows the depth in that agate. It reminds me of something skeletony. Steve

Those are some real purty little slabs that will make some top notch cabs. Definitely different and great color.

now let me get this straight shannon. You cut that slab on your cabbing machine with 7" blade. What did you use for a table? How did you hold the piece stable?

Ed,
I have a Graves Cabmate. Its a single wheel machine. I can swap diamond grinding wheels, expanding drums or even a trim blade. I have a removable table that attaches for when I want to use it for a trim saw. Its a great little machine, very dependable.

The blade is attached to the arbor, just like a wheel would be. The blade fits into a groove in the table and the table is held in place by two threaded knobs. I do have a vice that fits the saw table specifically but I never use it. I just hand feed the rocks into the blade.

Dennis,
In the case of these I paid LOTS for them LOL. I know the guy who ships these over from AU. He collects them himself so I know the source but even so......between the cost of the agates and the outrageous shipping to get them here, they werent cheap. But they are soooo worth it. Its one of the few materials that Im willing to spend a good chunk of change on.
