I had just cleaned out the twenty inch HP this morning, picked up a container of fresh oil, and knocked the sludge bucket over with the fresh oil container.. The shop (garage) floor is now waterproof. It took longer to clean the floor, than the saw. Luckily, I did not empty the bucket, but certainly dumped enough to impress me. This is a definite do not do this again! Woody It is somewhat embarrassing to make the messiest least liked lapidary task worse, but I sure did!

Hey Woody! Wouldn't it be easier to just put all the sludge on the garage floor first and clean it up from there, rather than the intermediate step of putting it in the bucket? LOL!! Actually, you and I ought to consider making one of those saw-suckers for getting the sludge out of the saws - sounds like we could both use one! I bet one of those puppies would clean up sludge from the garage floor pretty fast too. Garry

Yuck!
Note to self: don't knock over the sludge bucket when cleaning the saw

Crap! That sounds like something I would do. I use one of those big plastic tubs with the rope handles to drain all the oil and sludge into on my HP 18". I first line it with a black plastic garbage bag. Then I drain the oil and scrape all the sludge into it. I then slide the tub off of the saw stand, which is made of two furniture dollies screwed together with 2x4s, onto a small furniture dolly and roll it carefully over to where I have my recycling buckets. I dip the oil and sludge out and into the double grocery bag set up. When the tub is empty I toss the garbage bag and wipe out the tub. Rick
