Thankyou Thom, yes Mel that is the stuff, strange how 30 years has had no impact in it's price tag.

I bought some last time I was at Eloxite when I was passing through Wheatland, Wyoming. What a place that is. It's like stepping into a rock shop in 1970's. It's a good place to go for tumbler parts. I can't remember the owner's name but I was chatting with him about tumblers and he pointed to a wall full of Lortone parts. He claims he has parts for every tumbler Lortone made and then some.
Plus if you are into findings to set calibrated cabs into you'll be in hog heaven. They have a room just dedicated to belt buckles.
It's worth the stop if you are passing through Wyoming on I-25.

Linde A is .3 micron AO. It is lab grown to .3 micron. There are many brands of AO that are made in blocks and ground to .3 micron. These products work just as well in most applications and cost much less than Linde A. These range from $18-$30 a lb. Then there re quite a few .5 micron AO products selling from $15-$20 per lb. They would also work well in many applications. The "micron size" products are generally 3-4 microns and work well in rotary tumblers and on hard materials on buffs (pretty much like CO). These prices are anywhere from $8-$10 per lb. These are all 1 lb. packages.Of course if you buy in 5 lb. or larger you can buy for less. I think the Linde A runs about $100 a lb. and was pretty commonly sold by the ounce and used "back in the day" as a last ditch effort when all else failed. This was before the flood of AO products now available or the diamond products so popular for cabbing now.
