I didn't break the record this time, but I wore the kerf clean off the blade! ;D Anyhow, I got in some more great cuts, and this time I can ID damn near all of them! Here's the entire batch, 40 cuts..... This I'm pretty certain is Gary Green jasper. This was a gift from Jamie, it's my wife's favorite out of today's cuts..... To the left of the Gary Green is Koi jasper from Africa. This was a gift from Kim (rockyraccoon) More Cobra Tiger jasper from Brazil, and unfortunately this is the last of it. I wish I had bought alot more when Roughsale was auctioning it!! Here's some more African Koi jasper from Kim..... Close-up of Koi, I've always loved this stuff! I purchased this as "Marmalade jasper" from Ebay. It doesn't look much like marmalade, but it's ok.... Unknowns from Jamie, these are sweet!! More African Koi jasper.... These look like Imperial jasper to me. These were also a gift from Jamie......

I like that Gary Green. I seem to be partial to greens and browns and like some swirls of some kind going on. They are all great.

I would NOT have the patience to cut that much rock at once, especially by hand.

That's just two hours worth, I would have went longer if I hadn't wore the kerf down to nothing. Roxy- I've been cutting by hand since I got my Workforce saw three years ago. The new saw is just like the Workforce, only bigger.

Nope- this saw has a constant feed of water going to it, the hose connects to the bottom of the tank. The water never gets dirty and never runs out. I've never warped or dished a blade on any of my saws, not even the 16 inch saw. The 10 inch Hotdog blade was actually two years old, I've just been much harder on it the last couple of weeks. My 7 inch blades for the Workforce usually last a month or two, maybe less in the summer ;D

When your speaking of the 'workforce saw' its not the 89.00 special at Home Depot? Right?

Yep, that's the one, and I love it! ;D lol.... I have a 16 inch Covington with auto-feed that I use to slab the bigger stuff, and the 10 inch I use for the fist sized pieces. From there they all go to the 7 inch Home Depot special to be cut down. I've been using that one for three years, it sits outside all year-round, uncovered. The blades get rusty, but they only stay rusty through the first cut. I cut the slabs into pre-forms for the Genie and tumble-pendants for the Thumlers UV-10.

Beautiful slabs there. The first pic showing the Garey green, well the grain in those slabs match the wood they are sitting on. If it weren't for the blue in the stone, they would have been camouflaged.
