On second thought since I have so many geodes to sell I will only charge $6.00 for the larger geodes and I will put as many as I can in the larger Priority box. Of course shipping will be higher for the larger box...$13.95. So if you want the larger box it will be a total of $19.95 I hope this makes sense. I again am saying I do not have anymore of the smaller geodes only roughly 5-6 inches and up to extremely large. Thank you, gary

Well, I think I would like a box or two. I will have to wait till I get home and send a PayPal payment. It's 19.95 each right? I am just hoping I can cut them. I will sure give it a try anyway. Fran

Gary
Got my boxes of geodes today. I wanted to set up my wf saw on the back porch, but we got about 12 inches of new snow today. Guess I'll have to wait a couple of weeks to see what is inside some of those geodes. Thank you
Waiting impatiently for warmer days

Hey I got my box yesterday!!!!
It was so full the box ripped, and there was a little trail of geodes down my front walk!!! It was so funny! My son is so curious about them, now I don't know how to get them open! I tried a hammer, I tried a screwdriver and a hammer, (I am now down 1 screwdriver) and then I tried just throwing it on concrete!! So I guess I need to wait for the saw!!! hahahaha, my son is so anxious to get them open, he is worse than me with patience! Thanks again, this will be a fun project for us!!! Amber

LOL, Amber.....you are just too cute! Down one screwdriver lol. The last geodes I had, I just tapped with a hammer until a crack appeared and then I was able to separate the two halves with my hands. Some are more solid than others........shake them.......the ones that are lighter and rattle are usually the easiest to open.

The geodes I've opened have been a little oblong. Use a hammer and cold chisel and tap your way around the geode along the thinner diameter. Don't rush it. Go all the way around the rock a few times and you'll develop a crack. The sound will change when the geode is getting close to separating. Here are more detailed instructions and some alternatives: www.firstcrackgeodes.com/keokukgeodes.htmlHope this helps, Chuck

Okay RTHers....... For those of you who haven't bought geodes yet, add a few extra $ to your payment for those pesky little things like packing tape, gasoline, and PayPal fees. We don't want to take advantage of one of our members. This group has to have the biggest hearts of anyone I've ever met!!!! Susan 2

Hi Gary- I want a large flat rate box. Please PM me with the final cost and I'll post money to your PayPal account. I have been hunting in south east KY for geodes with friends and they were mainly quatz stained with limonite, with a few rattlers containing doubly terminated quartz crystls, nd some with gray botryoidal chalcedony inside. Overall, pretty nice. I would prefer the smaller ones as my saw is small. They crack pretty easily, though.

Susan: I am glad you said that,I added extra to mine, because it is a lot of work packaging these up and he is practically giving them away! His poor wife is going to have biceps to kill for soon!

I was in the break room having lunch when we all heard a big thud! Then the doorbell rang. ::)I went to the office door and saw the postman. He was sweating and huffing. He had dropped the plastic tote in the hallway with my "Two" flat rate boxes of geodes. I kept appologising to him and he looked at me and said. This is more rocks right? I said yes and thanked him and assured him I didn't have any plans to order anything else for a few weeks so he could rest up. He's a little guy too and these probably weigh around 70-80 pounds together. I'm impressed! Now I have to make it for another 4 hours before I can go home and enjoy these ;D I can't Wait! Fran

Poor mail carriers.........I always know when Im getting rocks. If there arent any, the mail lady walks down the driveway. If I do have rocks, she drives down and backs up as close to my porch as she possibly can LOL

Here is a picture of what I got. I have decided to wait till I rent a cast iron pipe cutter to open them. Everything we have read says that is the way to go and then smooth out the edges if it is a really nice one. I am so looking forward to it!
