I've been so busy that I haven't had the time do work on any of my hobbies. As a matter of fact water in the bottom of my grinder, it doesn't drain all the way, has actually evaporated. I don't think that has ever gotten that dry before. lol Last night I had a bit of time so I decided I wanted to slab a bunch of stuff. Along with that I had just gotten two boxes of Kentucky geodes from Gary (58vette) and wanted so see what was inside. I cut 6 of them in half and found none of the to be geodes but nodules instead. That didn't matter since I love cutting open rocks. The material is pretty soft so they cut very quickly but I'm not sure if they will slab well. Stupid me forgot to try that. I was surprised at the variety of color.
Here's the lot.
Some close ups. There were two that were this orange color. When you look at them close they show a fair amount of moss, very very cool.
This one is the most solid and is kind of yellow turning to a salmon color in the middle. I'm sure this one will slab up nice and make some good looking cabs.
The photo doesn't do this one justice. The pattern is pretty nice with a mossy looking area towards the middle.
My favorite, very pretty colors but way too many voids to slab or polish. Half of this is going into my specimen display and the other is going to get cut just to see what I can get out of it. I'm hoping for at least one cab out of the bluish material.
Here's the outside, odd looking.
If any of these look appealing, they certainly are to me, I think Gary still has another 1600 pounds for sale. The price was certainly right.
