Hi John, the stone in question looks like golden Tigers eye at a quick glance, however i think it is most likely an Agate of some sort.
What State did you find them?

I find almost everything in Mississippi...I know it's not tiger eye...maybe a banded chert or somthing

Well that narrows it down a bit to the following 10 States, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, covering approxmately 2,320 miles. My guess is Kentucky: Fortification Agate with red, black and yellow banding, it is the State stone of Kentucky, also known as Kentucky Agate! USA State Gems, Gemstones, Minerals, Rocks and StonesUnless of course you found it further up river than the State of Kentucky!
