Hello All, (I hope i put this in right area) I have been a member here for a short time and all ready the help I have received is great and I read all the help that many of you give to those in need. I would like to pass on an opportunity for any RTH'er I know that many of you have Internet stores to sell your various items. The costs associated with some of the sites that you all are listing on are getting crazy. It's making it impossible to make a living at what you love to do most. SO I have a very good friend who has recently start a new e based listing selling(stores) etc. linked thru paypal. and he has asked me to help spread his name around so i said of course (Thinking of all of you ). What he is going to is give anyone who signs up thru me a voucher for unlimited listings for free for life. all you will have to pay is the last fee of selling it's around 3% I know that is ten times cheaper the EBAY. I'm not asking to uproot your store somewhere but at least give it a try. With the voucher for free listings and all theres nothing to lose. I signed up myself. If you are interested just PM me with your name and user name after you register, ( I don't want your passwords or nothing like that) just user name so he knows who to send them to.I will forward this info to him and you will get a voucher in your message box to use when listing. I am a business owner my self and with the economy the way it is you have to cut costs any way you can and it's not getting better any time soon so SAVE $$$ where ever you can. I will try and check the PM's twice a day and get this info moved so you all can start savin the green back. The Web site is WWW.ebiddz.comAny questions please feel free to contact me and I will get answers to those questions. I hope this will help some of you out and it will help his web site grow also. so get in on the ground floor to something thats gonna be big!!!! sorry for the long wind Steve PLEASE NOTE: if you have a voucher for the site you MUST enter the voucher each and every time you list an item or if you want to do something with one that is all ready listed ANYTHING -edit, change, add remove ANYTHING you MUST put the voucher in before relisting it or you will get charged. also you may not use the auto relist feature. when it relists it will charge you. you will have to manually relist it and put in your voucher Bottom line the software the site uses charges for all the different tings automatically if you check the box, and you put in voucher it removes the charge. no voucher no freebie. this must be done each and everytime to tell the system that your VIP and no charge. I hope this helps.

Steve, I clicked the link you provided but I'm not sure it's correct. It took me to a site activation page. Nowhere to register. I'm wondering if this is correct? Let me know, sounds like it could be a great site.

The problem with small auction sites is the lack of traffic, and probable lack of reaching a target market. Preparing photos and ad copy takes a lot of time and effort. Even though there are commonly no listing fees and low selling fees on the smaller auction sites, the trade-off is that the chances of selling are much lower, so your time and effort are often wasted. Time IS money, so small auction sites actually cost you MORE if you can't move as much product as you would on a bigger, more "expensive" auction site.

Michael john, I here what your saying, the trick is to get the word out in the begining, but the big sites were all small at one time. I hope to have things for sale over the next couple months, so I might try the small site and see what happens. I can always sell elsewhere if need be.
What I would like to see is an e-commerce mall, where all the small stores are accessable from one location. Trouble with that idea is trying to get everyone to work together.

OK I reset the the link so it works now. If you guys have any problems please let me know.
MJ I hear ya but you also don't want to put all your eggs in one basket. this is a chance for you to have more then one place to advertise for cheeeeeeeeaaap. also once they do get big rates could go up and your still listing free for life. again nothing to lose!!! but a little time that it takes to list them.
for those who have sent me a PM I'm forwarding the info now so keep a look out for your voucher

That's what I was saying ... it takes much more than "a little time" to make listings. Personally, I have to collect the stone, clean the stone, sometimes cut or bust the stone, select batches, weigh it, take pics, upload the pics from the camera to the puter, upload the pics from the puter to the internet, write the listings, and attach the pics to the listings. It's VERY time-consuming. Far too much time and effort for just a stab in the dark at selling something on a small auction site. You can't consider it effective advertising, either, since you'll be lucky if even a few potential buyers see your listing. As for "free listings for life", that's nothing real special. Many well-established auction sites offer that. Also, presuming that a little start-up auction IS going to get big and be around "for life" is quite a stretch. Think about it ... how many people do you think can name more than two or three auction sites, other than eBay and Craig's List? Perhaps this sort of thing would be fine for hobbyists who just want to dabble at selling a few things, but in my position it's just not viable.

Michael John, I see where you are coming from. But I also see the potential for this site to make it with a little help from friends. I signed up and plan on advertising a few items. Not that I plan on making a killing on this site because it is new, but my listing along with others could get this site up and running quickly. I remember when e-bay started. All it took was 2 people that wanted to have a "yard sale" on the internet. They did it for about 6 months and it caught on rather well. If I was in your shoes, I would not stop any listing elsewhere, but I would list a thing or two and cross reference my site or auction to my other listings. Word of mouth or print is a powerful thing. How do you think Craig's list got started? Last thing I listed on E-bay cost me $28 just in listing fees. And I only used a few bells and whistles just to get it seen. Free for life is cool for me, even if the life is short lived. At least I'll be able to say I tried to help.

If you really want to try to make it popular for all things rocks, you should ask him to create a MAIN "Lapidary" category. This would provide an excellent reason for "rockers" all over the web to get involved. Egay puts us in a sub-category under "collectibles", and ebiddz currently stuck us under "jewelry and watches". If rockers see that ebiddz will give us the visibility of a MAIN "Lapidary" category, I think they'd be much more likely to jump on-board with the potential of the future "hottest spot" for selling all things rockin.
With a main Lapidary category, sub categories would enable further organization, including special attention to some which otherwise commonly default to "Other" ...
Lapidary Rough Slabs Cabochons Crystals Specimens Precious Gems Shells Beads Wire Wrapping Gem Trees Gold & Silver Smithing Fossils Stone Carving Lapidary Equipment & Supplies Books & Publications Metaphysical Stones & Crystals Everything Else
See what I mean? These particular sub-categories would lead buyers and sellers right where they want to be, without confusion. With this kind of special attention, this may very well get ebiddz a lot of attention from those who share this broad interest.

After seeing your thoughts about the website he has added a complete lapidary section with all the sub-categories that where asked for. I think will help your listings and make this worth the time invested. Remember your out nothing but time till the sale.
There will be a link added on the top of the home page for lapidary and there gonna spruce up the lapidary page. if there are some other things you guys would like to see post them and I can see if we can get them added. This is a great opportunity to jump in on the ground floor of a site that WILL give the OTHERS a run for the money.
I hadn't spoken with the owner yet today and he called me this evening to tell me that he had read the remarks about what would be nice to have and in a few hours it was done (it's Sunday ). this should show that they are really wanting this to work.
SO PLEASE go check out the additions to the site and get your stuff listed what will it hurt. more money in YOUR pocket not the other guys
Thanks to all who have helped already

Hey, just posted a few items. The site was being worked as I was playing on it. Love the additions! A Lapidary section should help out wonderfully!
The only thing I saw was there isn't an ability to edit your post if you notice mistakes after you either saved it as a draft or submitted it. I was having a problem setting up my paypal for payment and had to start over a couple of times. And don't worry, it was probably me!! Sometimes I can't see what's right in front of me, LOL.
Good Luck MJ, I'm sure your participation will help the site to suceed!!

Thanks to all that have already signed up. 6 or 7 of you so far.
Remember those other sites had to get there start up somewhere. All of you have the chance to get in on the ground floor and grow with the site. free listings for life is a long time (for most of us anyway)lol. just think if you had this same opportunity back when ebay was e who. Who's to say in a sort time ebiddz.com wont be neck and neck with the others.  go ask the other sites to add some new catigories and see how long it takes if you even get it at all. these guys are willing to go the extra mile to make this work for everyone.
No risk, nothing to loose just another place to list your stuff. that how I look at it.
Thanks Again and GOOD LUCK to all

Hello All, just wanted to give a heads up. these free listing vouchers for ebiddz.com They INCLUDE everything for listing. Front page, first page top page in categories. everything that you would normally have to pay for is free accept the finial sale fee like I said above (they have to make a little money lol). you will see they have an AD for free listings on their site but that only covers the listing fee not everything else. The one ALL RTH members are getting covers all the bells and whistles Thought this might make it a bit juicier for you and remember that the more people sign up the bigger the site gets, more traffic it gets more hits then more sales. Those that have joined let me know if you need anything i can pass it on(any suggestions, request ect...) I have about a dozen guitar picks i have made from various stones that will be on there by this weekend(camera issues). I'm very excited about this. Always wanted to sell stuff on Internet but the cost was crazy. now if i can get of my --- i can while your sleeping tonight just think all the bells and whistles for life! LOl Thank you all Steve

Sorry I wasn't much help but I did forward the question on so. But it looks like you have it I looked and they look great.
you might get answers faster if you use the contact area and send your question. other wise you will have to wait for me to check this site to get your questions to just forward them to ebbidz. I don't want you to have to wait that long as they check there emails repeatedly thru out the day.
As I am Just a friend helping spread the word and pass some saving around I would rather you get the professionals answers then my HUH"S  But i am more then happy to forward them.
and there are still plenty of the vouchers left but get in while you still can cause this deal won't be around for ever.
Hope you all like it so far. might be a little bumpy at first but the more you do it the easier it will get once you are familiar with the system.
thanks again Steve

Well I got my ebiddz store up and running. Please go check it out. any suggestions please let me know.
once i did the first one its easy as pie now. If you are having trouble read the help section it makes it all make sense. got about 12 items on so far. many more to come.
If you are thinking about signing up go for it. your not out anything to try. It's fun to. I stayed up till 3am messin around listing stuff. I know their are a lot of you that sell else where and haven't signed up yet. go ahead i wont hurt. If you think that a second place to list your stuff (for free) isn't a great idea then so be it. we will have our fun in the sun. But I don't want to hear should have, would have, could have. well it's all good each to his or her own i guess. thanks to all those who have taken the plunge I hope you are all prosperous
and sign up send me your info and get the free voucher.
Have a great Weekend all and happy listing
Steve thanks for your support
