I want to make February 28th The official ROCK DAY!
I want to petitions the powers that be to duly note it on the calendar.
I have my reason for wanting to make today ---and all February 28th--- the official [glow=blue,2,300]ROCK DAY![/glow]
I also realize that many of you will have another day you prefer.
So to be fair submit your day and reason (or not) Of what day you prefer to be the official rock day! ---down the road will make a pole and vote for the day---
Happy Rock Day !

I would pick june 21. The summer solstice means you can pick rocks almost 24 hours, well, maybe 20 hours where I live. Although, if I took a trip about 600 miles north, there would be 24 hours of daylight. I do know of some huge gravel pits up there too;)

Well, I was thinking about groundhog day but it shouldn't share a day with something else. I may have been thinking of that because groundhogs live, work, play in the dirt just like rockhounds ;D

Wow Lori Ground hound day??? February 2nd? Here’s something historically interesting I found out about Ground Hog Day. It was called Candlemas Day if Wikipedia is any authority. That candling is everywhere! My reasons for February 28th being the official Rock Day? Hmmm… well… Its 2 weeks after Valentines day --- traditionally a strong rock day. But many of us fools haven’t got a rock yet. So this is the last chance to give your sweetheart a rock in that month! Except for leap year when we get one more day to leap over that rock! Anyway February a good rock month! But I like Brent idea to. June is a rock'n month! I'd only haggle over the day. I'd choose the 28th. Hung up on the 28th. But nny month as long as we get a Rock Day!
