Today I went to the Boise Rock and Gem Clubs annual Rock Show. I just wanted to share a few pictures of some of the displays. Phillip from www.rarerocksandgems.com Morrisonite is beyond breath taking. The best of the best of all of the local materials were displayed like Bruneau, Willow Creek, Owyhee, Graveyard just to mention a few and I can not even describe what I saw in those display cabinets. Also I met the owner of the Willow Creek Jasper mine this afternoon and if anybody is interested in buying rough, slabs, or cabs of willow creek here is Larry's phone number 208-853-1804. I know his rough prices are $20 lb but it's top notch. Jason

Jason, Did you carry around a drool bib with ya??? I'm sure the pics don't do any of those showcases justice. I LOVE THE LAST PIC....Just a few outstanding cabs there huh. I have to go check out the link. Steve I knew I shouldn't have clicked on that link!      :nono:

I can't imagine living in a location where Bruneau, Morrisonite, and the other "fine" jaspers are considered local. Those display cabinets are terrific.

Wow, very nice, thanks for posting. I love the Morrisonite nodule in the 5th picture. The orbs look like they are glowing. Wish I could've been there.. HPD

Oh man I'm missing it by one week, as I'll be there next week. Phillip's collection is so awesome in pictures, to see it in real life has got to be amazing, thanks for sharing, I'll be giving Larry a call for sure, need to make sure I've got some extra cash along on my trip....

Man, what awesome displays! Especially love the morrisonite and the fossils. I got some Willow Creek slabs from that gentleman at Quartzite one year and they were, like you said, top notch material.....Mel

Next weekend the Owyhee Gem and Mineral Society will be having their show in Caldwell, ID. Not all but some of the material displayed in Boise will also be at that show. So rallyrocks, you still have a chance to see some great displays.

Man I'm always off- this time by one day as I arrive in Boise Monday, I do expect I will be up there quite a bit over the next couple years though, so hopefully I'l have more chances to hang out with the SW Idaho RTH contingency soon!
