I went to my local Home Depot today hoping to buy a Work Force saw but they were all gone, there was a pile of them a week ago.Bummer.We got a foot of snow last night and it was still coming down heavy so I figured as long as I'm out I'll go down the road to Lowes and see what they had,I didnt get my hopes up because they never had a good selection of this type of equipment before.I was very surprised to find a whole stack of these little guys. $88 bucks, same as the WF and it came with two seven inch blades. Here's a shot of the built in water tray, you just tilt to the side to empty it.It has a blade cover with a port to connect a vacuum hose for dry work but I left it off.It screws on with two knobs under the table. Here's a pic of the label. I just built a flat lap and tried cutting my first cab preforms on my 10inch saw but I was getting soaked with oil mist so I decided to get one of these.I cut for about an hour so far so I cant really say how well its gonna hold up but it cut really well. The two blades that came with it are a little on the thick side but fine for what I'm doing with it.The table comes off easily but I'm just rough shaping slabs so I think I'll leave it on for now.Anyway I'm glad my trek thru the blizzard was successful. That looks similar to the new WF.

It always was the blade not the saw. Although 3/4hp was pretty good for a 7" tile saw.

That awesome Mike, and it looks like you don't have to load a whole lot of water into it. I carry mine out to my saw in a pitcher and it takes two pitchers to fill my WF tray. Something simple like that makes things easier. Of course, not being able to carry the tray to the outside spicket after you're finished cutting to clean the rock sludge off of the bottom is nice. How's the blade that comes with it? Jo

QEP is the manufacturer for the blades that come on the WF. My guess is that they are the OEM for the WF saws.
This is actually a little different from the new WF. On the new WF, the water tray is on the right and you tip the table up to access it.

Jo,I'm glad you asked about the blade. The machine came with two blades,I assumed they were both the same so I just grabbed one and bolted it on.When I read your reply the I took a look at the other one and noticed that it was thinner and had a lot more diamond than the first one.The second blade is not painted and has the QEP logo on it.I thought the first one cut pretty good but I only cut for about an hour and this is my first attempt at cutting freehand.I hope to cut some more tonight and I'll give the other blade a try and see if there is a difference.I'll let you know what I think. It doesn't hold very much water. Does the blade stay cool enough? My WF died and I would love to get another. Will have to wait a while.

Tigger – If you like the saw (and it’s the motor that’s shot?) you can get a new motor from the manufacturer for $46 + shipping. That’s a damn good price, really. (A 7” MK-303 blade lists for $63, on sale at Kingsley-North for $47.) www.chervonpowertools.com/products/product.aspx?ID=6Mark H. (docharber) recently bought direct from the company. No problems mentioned. Rich

Tigger,it holds enough water to cover about an inch of the blade.I've only cut for a couple sessions about an hour each and had to refill about every twenty minutes or so.Not a problem since I have a water source next to the saw.If I keep the blade in about a quarter inch of water it stays nice and cool. Rich, I'm not sure but I think it's the moter. It make a terrible noise when it's running. But if you cut a rock, you can't hear it as bad, LOL. It almost sounds like it's trying to seize up but it keeps cutting. I am afraid to continue using it so it has sat for awhile. Now I'm afraid to even try it, LOL.
Thanks for the link. I'll show my hubby.

Mine did the same thing Tigger. One of these times you'll flip the switch and all you'll get is a hum.

Ken and I each have one and they are great. The blades are a little wide cutting, but for the price you can't beat them. I like mine better than the WF because of the water tray. Only drawback is on the right side of the blade is a recess so you have to keep your slab on the left side. Have had both for over 2 years and they are both running strong on the first blade. Still have the extra blade left to use. Only used for slab trimming.
