CPP is what I've used for years, buying it at a local rock shop. But it's pretty expensive, I think they charge $10.95 per pound, and they don't offer any bulk discount. Since CPP is just aluminum oxide, and folks talk nicely about the rock shed AO, the last time I bought polish I picked up 5 lbs from the rock shed for $4/lb. Even with shipping and currency conversion it was cheaper than local. That batch of petrified wood I posted a few days ago was done with Rock Shed AO, and I can't tell any difference from the CPP I used to use.
