I went to the Ventura Gem & Mineral Show yesterday and had a great time.
So many pretty and widely varied in size goodies ...

Here are some upcoming gem & mineral shows in California ...
Conejo Gem & Mineral Show 2009 May 16th, 17th with set up 15th
It's just 2 months away. Many of us have been preparing for the show, We have the dates set. We're going to need members to participate. Even if your a new member there are many things you can help out with, it's our show, it's up to you to make it a great show. I hope there will be many signatures on the sign up sheets at the March meeting. We really do need help and it is much appreciated, so please sign up. If you don't know much about the show or how you can help, talk to me. There will be flyers at the March meeting. Take some flyers home, give them to your friends, co-workers, family. I have found the more active you are in the club the better it is, there is camaraderie, you make new friends. We will need these staff: cashiers, helpers, security. We will also need help with moving equipment, facilities set up and take down, this is important and all members should help out. We need material for the grab bags and silent auction & Gem Jars, It's time to donate some of your rocks/mineals/fossils to the club. Everyone search your house and yard, there must be material around that you can donate.
We need plants for the plant room, so start planting your cuttings, there will be small plastic plant holders at the March meeting if you need them.There will be a lasagna dinner Fri night and this year on Sunday's take down the club is going to buy pizza for those that help out.Check out the upcoming Ventura's show March 7-8th Ventura County Fair Grounds, www.vgms.org/show.shtm
