Is this a natural stone? The color is gorgeous, and what a subtle pattern! No a clue about the ID. Thanks for sharing.

I'm going to guess Seraphinite, but whatever it is, it is beautiful and the wrap is really great too.
Then again, maybe its Fordite, but what do I know? I'm just a newbie...lol ;D

That is a beautiful wrap and the cab is gorgeous. Is that the usual color and pattern for the stone? I'm thinking of all the blue rocks that I know of and either they are normally too dark or too light to be that stone.
Could it be Azurite?
I'm going to get Mel and coax him into the wrapping section. He'll know what it is.

I love the patterning on that. If it's natural, that's a terrific stone. If it's not natural, I'm going to guess slag glass or Victoria Stone (leaning more toward slag glass). If it's natural, I guess I'd go with Malachite?s

I vote Fordite! All the same, I like it. Woody

I don't know but it looks like the paint they scrape up from the car factories and use that to make cabs. I really have no idea of what it could be in reality. Fran

*L* Don't ask Mel . He don't know *L*. If natural, I'd guess and I mean guess, some kind of jade or serpentine. Really neat wrap!.....Mel

Looks like slag glass and/or fordite. But, you said 'stone'. Azurite is the only thing that would come close.

My guess is that, whatever it is, it's been dyed. Maybe indigo (blue jeans) dye?

Okay haven't been getting any more hits on my unique stone so I will tell you what it is. Some of you are close when you guessed that it might be Fordite. It is actually a mixture of some Acryllic paint mixed with gloss medium. I had made up a batch trying to match the frozen pond on one of my dad's Christmas village pieces. When it comes to the pearl acryllic paint it is better to let it dry and then remove it from the bowl then trying to wash it out. Well my mother fell in love with the pattern that was created and when it was fully hardened I took another cab and traced the pattern, cut it with scissors and used an emory board to smooth the occasional points. I then wrapped it in sterling silver square wire and put a deerskin leather cord on it. Mother wore it the other day and said she couldn't hardly tell she had it on. Tami

That is too funny Tami! And very creative-goes to show you that you can make jewelry out of just about anything!
