Is that a striped bass? AND How many families will it feed? Wow!
Nice beach find, but too bad you can't tumble it. Too soft on Mohs hardness scale.

Akansan!! That would have attracted a lot of attention!
The tournament was great!! It was down at the beach in Jersey! Last year my uncle won and could not believe the amount of gifts they gave him, it was unseasonably warm in Oct and he was the only person that caught a striper. Our customers were really bummed we didn't do it this year because of the economy!!!

I mainly fish from Aug - Dec very hard. The stripe bass does taste very good and is a great fighting fish off the beach. I only keep the one's that I feel can not make it after I beach them. I am only allow to keep 1 @ 28" and over And a 40" and over per day. I avg per year about 10 fish I keep. The rest is catch and release. There Are a few weeks in Oct and Nov I catch over 200 fish per week.

bejewelme That is great you uncle won the stripper tournament and yes when you win one of them you do get a lot of prizes. I try to stay away from the beach tournament on Long Island because the beaches get very crowded with fisherman and then it is no fun anymore. When I am on the beach people see who I am and they just follow me around. That is why I mainly fish at night and hang out during the day.
