While staring at my outside rock piles this weekend, somewhere under 2 feet of snow and ice, I headed to the basement to scrape "the bottom of the barrel". Actually, the bottom of my inside rock bucket collected last summer from beaches along the Bay of Fundy. These were the leftovers that were passed up time and time again. It was looking like they were destined to become rock garden specimens. These were 2" and 3" pieces of beach rock cut on a 7" wet tile saw. I'm glad I didn't toss them after all. Never judge a rock until you slice it open! 150FromFundy

i think that is the magic about slicing rocks, it's like opening a present with each cut.
