You had a beautiful time, thank you for sharing the pics. I like the rocks too, my favorite is the big brecciated in the 11th picture. Were those horses interested in rocks too? Or maybe your T-shirts hypnotised them! Adrian

Man, that's some pretty country! Horses and good rockhounding too, you sure can't beat that for a fieldtrip. You sure found some pretty mixed moss agate too. That red and yellow one is an eye popper....Mel

Always great to see your trips and your tailgate shots. That big one is a beaut. Can you really get some usable material off of it using a chisel? Puppies tie-dyes are really cool.

I'm sorry but I don't see how you could have left that one behind. More than once I've had a full backpack, a rock bag hanging from each arm and a boulder in my hands (hmmm, where's the tired-n-sweaty smiley). But a good score anyways, especially that yellow-n-red mossy looking one. And you got to meet some 'wildlife' yeah!

Take me along next time!!!!!! And---I don't think I could have left that big 'un behind. I swear I would have found some way to drag that mother back to the vehicle-------. You two did great, what a beautiful assortment of rock!!!!!!! Now it comes to me---you should have but that big rock in a sack, and let the horses PULL the darn thing back to the truck--one 'horsepower' was all you needed for the job!!! Nona

Beef-
Awesome day in the field. There's nothing like the desert and this is the time for playing. Congrats on a great trip.

What a fun day you guys had. Being outdoors, cloudy, nice little river, rocks, horses. Couldn't ask for better. That rock in the eleventh picture...I'm tumbling one almost exactly like it as we speak (or write). It's about fist sized and it just went into the 400F stage. Should be ready in a couple of weeks. I got it at the Woodward Ranch some time back. I'll post a pic of it as soon as it's done.
