I recently missed out on an auction for some killer Texas Plume agate, and I am trying to find some elsewhere. I have attached a photo below of the piece I missed winning so you can see what I am looking for. Specifically, I would like to buy some top quality plume agate that shows very well against a clear background, or as clear as possible. I would also love to buy some rough or slabbed dendritic agate on a clear agate background, similar to the ones that were posted elsewhere on this forum. Here is a link to the ones I am talking about: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=Pictures&action=display&thread=29169I am willing to pay a fair price if anyone has what I am looking for, and I would appreciate it if anyone can direct me to anyone who does have any. Again, here is the photo of what I am looking for in the texas plume: Thanks. Vance

Wow Vance, I'd think that's going to be a pretty tough one to get. The example in your picture looks like old Bishop Ranch Bouquet Plume from near Marfa, Texas. There may be other places open but I think Bishop has been closed for years so you need to find an old Texas collector. Re:the dendritic stuff in the other picture. I'm sure a lot is old timey Montana but a lot looks like the old Indian Mocha stone dendritic agate too and that material I haven't personally seen in rough or slabbed form for years here in the US....Mel

Rats! It seems like I always aim a little too high... I had a feeling this type of plume would be really hard to find. Well, I will keep my hopes up and maybe find someone who has a stash somewhere.
