Hi to everyone,
First a little history:
As a lot of the members here know I had to sell my Genie a while back due to many medical problems/bills. Selling it put me into kind of a depression. I really liked making cabs but sometimes other things in life take over. I had planned on also selling what little rough that I had left but just could not depart with it. I think I was trying to hold onto that part of my life.
I was able to aquire quite a few pounds of geodes through a friend of mine. These I sold to many members of this board and I really thank all that purchased them. My camera decided not to work so I could not take any pictures of the geodes. AMBER (bejewelme) took upon herself to take the pictures and post them for me. This was without me asking her. I really believe with her doing that helped selling a lot more of them. When the orders had slowed down I thought "how can I thank her for doing that"? The only thing I could come up with was to send her one of the cabs I had made in the past. She was happy with the cab and decided to find a way to get me a grinder so I could continue cabbing. She posted this on this forum and asked if anyone knew of a grinder that was for sale and if any members wanted to help with the purchase let her know. Tony (Catmandewe) jumped right in with what was a very generous offer. So with his offer and Ambers offer a new grinder surely would be found. Donna (Demammy) then posted that she had a Inland swap top for sale. Amber PM'd me to see if I would like to have it so I could continue cabbing. I jumped at the opportunity and said "yes" even though I felt like I was taking advantage of the situation. Amber told me it is not "taking advantage" just friends helping out a fellow rockhound. Amber talked to Donna about it and Donna told her that she would take a smaller amount for the grinder and would "pay for shipping". So with the three of them a grinder was on its way. I received it a couple of days ago but have been down with a really bad cold. I have set it up, but with the cold I have not felt like making my first cab as of yet....maybe today.
I really do not know how I will ever thank these members for putting this together. My wife is so thankful because she knows I enjoy making cabs and doing so keeps my mind busy. I just hope that one of these days I can help someone else like I was helped.
Again I want to THANK YOU for all your hard work.
