Well I am down to only one barrel and 3A tumbler. My 33b gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. I noticed a strange noise went down to check it out and the end of the idler rod had be sheared off. Got a replacement rod from Shawn at the rock shed had time to repair my 33B and the rod was too short by 3 inches. Well after calling Shawn and sending him pictures of my 33B he called Lortone and they looked at their designs and blue prints dating back to 1974 and they did not have anything for that model of tumbler. That means my Lortone Gem Sparkler is older than 35 years. Shawn is so nice if I send all the parts back that he would give me credit for a new 33B tumbler. Tami

If you have a machine shop in the area you can take what's left of your idler and buy a length of shaft stock. I think it is 5/6" diameter. Cut to fit and buy some button caps the same size at hardware store pull out hardware drawers. Some hardware stores may carry short lengths of shaft stock. I buy the shaft from a local industrial supply and braided vinyl hose to replace original coating. You obviously wore completely through bearings so need to replace those also. Make sure frame is in good shape also. The thin plastic bearings need to be checked and replaced as needed to prevent just this kid of problem.

I recently had the same issue with an old QT66 tumbler. I just cut a piece of 1/2 inch rod (from home supply and farm supply stores) about an inch longer that the original and used a hose clamp instead of the lock ring that was on the original. The tumbler is working great again. I will take a photo of this and post it the next few days.
