Hello a newbe here, I was inspired by Bikerrandy's tutorial and was looking at fire mountain gems for wire. Has anyone used the zebra wire? Is it easy to work with? And last question what hardness would it be? Thanks yall, Whiskeycellar

Welcome to the board!
I haven't used zebra wire, but I noticed that they say its electroplated copper. IMO it would most likely be dead soft in hardness.
I usually get my wire from Monsterslayer.com or Brandywine.com. Regardless, dead soft is the way to go. Half hard, half round is for binding.
I may be wrong about the zebra wire, though. Hopefully others will chime in.
Good luck and don't forget to post pics.

WC, another newbie here that really enjoyed the tutorial. Ok, for learning with, it may be fine. For actual genuine wrap you want to last through time, no. The electroplate is going to come off. I agree with soft - on all accounts. Being copper it will most likely be soft. Definitely go cheap to learn with. It doesn't hurt so much when it lands in the trash.

I got the same kind of wire for my daughter in law. She says she likes it. I told her I would get her the good stuff after she practices for a while...I guess I need to get around to that soon. Fran

Welcome whiskey! Your best bet for learning would be to go with copper. Rolled gold is nice-but expensive.
Have fun! kj
