Is it really a good thing or even something positive to take a stone that is perfect short of pin sized hole or something and drop one small drop of crazy glue into the hole before pre polish?
And ... if so ... how long should I wait until I can safely throw those stones into stage 3?
I have been lucky enough so far not to have the white line (pre and polish) problem with my stones. I do not want to start now.
I have some stones that I think are ready for the pre polish, however there is one or two tiny nicks/holes that I am waiting to smooth out. Most of the rocks are the ones that keep me from moving on into stage 3.
As Always ...

I have never tried filling holes in the stones that I tumble, but it is a common practice for cabbing. The only troubole that I can see is that the adhesive will leave an imperfect surface unless the glue isw ground and polished. Since you mentioned pre-polish as the next step, then I assume that there will be no further shaping. My thought is that you mjay get lumps and such where the glue has been used.
Considering your level of addiction to rocks, I am thinking that a cabbing machine like the Genie may be your best solution (OK, maybe not "best" but it is a good line for the old-man to get him past the sticker shock). Just a thought.

I'd pull those out of line and put them back in step 1. Glue works ok sometimes on cabs and specimen pieces. I don't think it would hold up in the tumbler. Remember the patience thing?
