Ever heard that saying???
I am such a dork ...
One of the cardinal (if not most important things to remember) rules of tumbling is to take very good care of your tumblers.
In my effort to make sure everything is oiled and as it should be ... I was hit by the awful thought of tumbler LOAD.
I have been so remiss is my attention to how MUCH or not should be in your tumblers ... I overloaded my barrels. I was wondering why they were so sluggish.
This is a sure death for any decent or great tumbler as they are not immune to total abuse.
I discovered that both my barrels were grossly overloaded and a possible result ... I could have blown the motor on my Lortone. I am not Mama Warbucks and therefore cannot run out and buy another because of ignorance. Or stupidity in this case.
Always .... if nothing else ... weigh your batch in total including barrel and DO NOT exceed maximum load for that particular barrel.
Yes .... I know ... there are probably more veterans here than newbies like me ... but ... I would remiss if I did not post a reminder ... if only to myself about this. This is really important in the longevity of your tumblers.

Hey, MyNewHobby,
Not at all .. in fact, thanks for sharing this information. I just weighed my 3 lb'er and it was 3 ozs over, so I guess I am just pushing it a bit. This is a very important item to be aware of. Maybe something also to think about when we upgrade or add a additional tumbler, to go for a 6 lb or higher machine ...
