I bought 2 Chicago Electric tumblers last year, and after all the headaches that came with them, I tossed them out this winter.
I'm leaning towards the Thumler's Ultra Vibe 10 this time around. I live near Lake Superior and collect "lakers" in the summer, so my rocks are all pre-shaped.
I'm looking for a little input on my selection of the UV 10, any special advice on operation, and also would like to know how warm out it should be before I fire it up? It's been in the 20's lately and my garage is insulated, but not heated. I have a fair amount of rocks left from last summer, but the lake isn't thawed out enough to start taking walks again. I'm on the western tip of Lake Superior.
Thanks!

See Bikerrandys post on this board for complete vibe tumbling instructions. You should wait for above freezing temps before you tumble, shouldn't be long now.The lakers would be perfect for a vibe but running them for a week in a rotary with 60/90 would be a good start. If the stones are really smooth you could go right to 120 in the vibe. The UV10 is a great machine so you wont be disappointed if you decide to get one.
