That is a great looking specimen. I have never seen Crystals like that with Black tips . Are those Quartz Crystals with Smokey tips or something else ? $100.00 for the specimen ? That would all depend on the wife being in the immediate area and having the vendor getting the price sticker changed before she showed up ;D

Brian, Wifey might drag her feet a little when I suggest buying Agate or anything else in the way of rocks. I live across the road from a large sand and gravel plant and have permission to carry off anything I can fit in a knapsack and struggle to the front gate with. If I need something she usually suggests I walk my a$$ over there and root it out I am sure the next time I need a big fat Blackskin nodule to slab and flake arrowheads out of, all I have to do is wander over there and dig one out :cheesy: When a flatrater shows up on the back porch I tell her it's a box of whatever that I traded Jamie or Tony or someone for . I always cut the labels off before I bring em in the house. Our little secret ;D ;D O.K.

I would have paid $100! Never mind asking the wife. It's easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

It's worth $100. Most of the terminations look sharp not to badly chipped. It's very dark smokey quartz. Knowing the locality would be a good thing. I would have tried to talk them down if it was a show, but that's me. It's a fine specimen, very aesthetic and that's what counts to you. Probably worth the $100. You could probably see plates like that for more at the tourist traps.

Looks very similar to pieces that were for sale from an Arkansas mine owner who I saw at Tucson.
