This year's 2009 Ashwood Rockstock is going to be a bit different. I don't have details yet, however I was notified that the owner Darrell Friend of the Friends ranch passed away in January. He was a good friend, and was the main man who organized the Rockstock. I emailed his wife and the Friends Ranch is closed to collecting this year. I was also told that Alex McDonald might take over the rockstock. I'll let you know as soon as I get answers back from emails I have out. I'll try to post here, or you can always keep checking my website www.oregonthundereggs.com Jason

Jason, Wow so sorry to hear about Darrell's passing...please pass my condolences to his wife...He was really one of those people that made Rockstock work...I had the opportunity of attending the event a few years back, meeting him and seeing how he helped folks at the event...sure hope Alex kicks in....it would be a shame to lose such a neat event!! Jason,
Dang - I didn't recall Darrell being very old, sorry to hear about him passing. Definately also pass my wife's and my condolences to his family next time you talk to them. We had the opportunity a few years ago to attend both the spring and the fall Ashwood events (diff years). I think one of those visits was when they opened up a new thunderegg bed on Darrell's Son's property?
I also hope Alex will take over because the event really is a good fun one, with chances to visit areas that are otherwise hard to access.
Dean
